Adhyaya 91 — The Gods’ Hymn to Kātyāyanī and the Goddess’ Prophecy of Future Manifestations
नन्दगोपगृहे जाता यशोदागर्भसम्भवा ।
ततस्तौ नाशयिष्यामि विन्ध्याचलनिवासिनी ॥
nandagopagṛhe jātā yaśodāgarbhasambhavā /
tatas tau nāśayiṣyāmi vindhyācalanivāsinī
我将生于牧牛者难陀之家,自耶输陀(Yaśodā)之胎而现;继而居于温陀耶山(Vindhya),我将毁灭那二者(商婆与尼商婆)。
The Divine enters ordinary households and social settings, showing that sacred power is not confined to heaven. The Vindhya residence emphasizes localized, accessible forms of the Goddess for devotees.

‘Birth in Nanda’s house’ symbolizes the descent of śakti into the ‘cowherd’ (pastoral, sattvic) heart; ‘Vindhya’ can symbolize the stable ‘mountain’ of inner resolve where destructive tendencies are overcome.
