वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma as steadfast adherence to truth and to one’s pledged word. The Pāṇḍavas’ moral identity is defined by satya and commitment, even when pressured by royal authority or expedient proposals.
Vaiśampāyana informs a Bharata prince that the Pāṇḍavas are unwavering in their vow-bound conduct and therefore will not accept the father’s message/proposal—indicating a firm refusal grounded in ethical resolve rather than convenience.
