The verse highlights that dharmic or momentous events draw the attention of both divine guardians (Indra, Varuna, Yama, etc.) and enlightened seers (the Saptarishis). Their presence symbolizes moral legitimacy, cosmic oversight, and the ideal of purity of intention (amalāḥ).
Markandeya describes the arrival of major deities and the Seven Sages at a particular gathering or scene. The narrative emphasis is on the assembling of authoritative cosmic figures—suggesting an important occasion where truth, order, or judgment is at stake.
