Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca: Uktaṁ bhagavatā janma Rāmādīnāṁ pṛthak pṛthak | Prasthāna-kāraṇaṁ brahman śrotum icchāmi kathyatām ||
由提施提罗说道：“婆罗门啊，你已分别叙述了罗摩及其诸弟的诞生。如今我愿听他们出离之因——请为我宣说。为何陀沙罗陀那两位英勇之子——圣罗摩与罗什曼那——并那位声名卓著的弥提罗公主悉多，也不得不入林而居？”
