प्राप्ताश्न पुण्यलोका: स्युर्महेन्द्रसदने5क्षया: । गन्धर्वके हाथसे मारे जानेपर इस भूमण्डलमें मेरा यश विख्यात हो जाता और इन्द्रलोकमें मुझे अक्षय पुण्यधाम प्राप्त होते
prāptāś ca puṇyalokāḥ syur mahendrasadane 'kṣayāḥ | gandharvakair hatasyāsya bhūmaṇḍale mama yaśo vikhyātaṃ syāt, indraloke cākṣayaṃ puṇyadhāma prāpnuyām |
杜尤陀那心想：倘若自己死于乾闼婆之手，名声必将传遍大地，而在摩诃因陀罗（因陀罗）天庭中，也将获得不朽的功德住处。此念显露他对名誉与身后报偿的执著——宁取“英雄之死”的表象与天界之利，也不愿作冷静的自省与合乎法度的克制。
