द्वैतवनगमनम् (Dvāitavana-gamanam) — Journey and Settlement at Dvaita Forest-Lake
तमागतं ज्वलितहुताशनप्रभं महामना: कुरुवृषभो युधिष्ठिर: । अपूजयत् सुरऋषिमानवार्चितं महामुनि हानुपमसत्त्ववीर्यवान्,उनकी अंग-कान्ति प्रज्वलित अग्निके समान उदभासित हो रही थी। देवताओं, ऋषियों तथा मनुष्योंद्वारा पूजित महामुनि मार्कण्डेयको आया देख अनुपम धैर्य और पराक्रमसे सम्पन्न महामनस्वी कुरुश्रेष्ठ युधिष्ठिरने उनकी यथावत् पूजा की
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: tam āgataṁ jvalita-hutāśana-prabhaṁ mahāmanāḥ kuru-vṛṣabho yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | apūjayat sura-ṛṣi-mānava-arcitaṁ mahāmuniṁ mārkaṇḍeyaṁ anupama-sattva-vīryavān ||
毗湿摩波耶那说:大心的坚战,俱卢族之雄牛,见摩迦ṇḍeya大牟尼到来——光辉如烈焰,受诸天、诸仙与世人敬奉——便依礼恭敬供养,致以周全的礼敬。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic kingship: even a powerful ruler shows greatness by honoring spiritual wisdom. Respectful reception of a revered sage—through proper worship and hospitality—signals humility, self-control, and commitment to righteousness.
Mārkaṇḍeya, a highly revered sage described as radiant like fire, arrives. Yudhiṣṭhira, portrayed as noble and strong, receives him with due honors, setting the stage for counsel and sacred discourse in the forest-exile context.
