Mudgalasya Svarga-nirvedaḥ
Mudgala’s Disenchantment with Heaven
gaccha duryodhanaṃ baddhvā sahāmātyam ihānaya | dhanaṃjayaś ca te rakṣyaḥ saha bhrātṛbhir āhave ||

Even when punishing wrongdoing, one should uphold restraint and discernment: the aggressor (Duryodhana) may be lawfully subdued, but the virtuous (Arjuna and his brothers) are to be protected. Power is to be exercised with ethical discrimination, not indiscriminate violence.
Chitrasena commands his followers to capture and bind Duryodhana and bring him in with his ministers, while explicitly instructing them to safeguard Arjuna (Dhanañjaya) and his brothers in the fighting—marking Duryodhana as the target and the Pāṇḍavas as protected parties.
