Bhīṣma’s Admonition; Duryodhana’s Rājasūya Aspiration and the Proposal of a Vaiṣṇava-satra
तथैव तत्समीपस्थान् पृथगावसथान् बहुन् कर्णस्य शकुने श्वैव ३ 2७ | चैव सर्वश:,इसी प्रकार दुर्योधनके डेकके पास ही कर्ण, शकुनि तथा दुःशासन आदि सब भाइयोंके लिये पृथक्-पृथक् बहुत-से खेमे पड़ गये
tathaiva tatsamīpasthān pṛthag-āvasathān bahūn karṇasya śakuneś caiva sarvaśaḥ
毗湿摩耶那说道:同样地,在都利约陀那近旁,设立了许多彼此分开的营帐——为迦尔纳(Karṇa)者,为沙昆尼(Śakuni)者,亦为其余众人者,皆各有其所。此种布置彰显有意的结盟与戒备:都利约陀那的主要煽动者与核心支持者被安置在他身侧,昭示谋议相互呼应,并共同承担他们即将采取之道路的责任。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how proximity and organization reflect political intent: those who shape a leader’s decisions—advisers and allies—stand physically and symbolically close, sharing accountability for outcomes. It implicitly warns that collective planning in the service of adharma binds all participants to the moral consequences.
The narrator describes the logistical arrangement of the Kaurava side: near Duryodhana, separate camps are established for Karṇa, Śakuni, and the rest (including Duḥśāsana and other brothers), indicating a structured, coordinated encampment around the central figure.
