Educational Q&A

Honoring and satisfying brāhmaṇas is presented as a powerful dharmic act: it wins divine favor, and their spoken blessing is said to confer spiritual merit capable of leading to Svarga.

Mārkaṇḍeya is instructing his listeners on dharma by emphasizing the religious and ethical importance of pleasing brāhmaṇas and valuing their words (especially blessings) as spiritually efficacious.
