Brāhmaṇas Follow into Exile and Śaunaka’s Instruction
द्रौपद्या विप्रकर्षण राज्यापहरणेन च । दुःखार्दितानिमान् क्लेशैरनईहहं योक्तुमिहोत्सहे,द्रौपदीके अपमान तथा राज्यके अपहरणके कारण ये दुःखसे पीडित हो रहे हैं, अतः मैं इन्हें (आहार जुटानेका आदेश देकर) अधिक क्लेशमें नहीं डालना चाहता
draupadyā viprakarṣaṇa-rājyāpaharaṇena ca | duḥkhārditān imān kleśair anaihaṁ yoktum ihotsahe ||
尤提希提罗说道:“因德劳帕蒂所受之辱,以及我邦国被夺之事,这些人早已为悲苦所折磨。因此我不愿在此再以额外重担束缚他们,使其更添艰辛。”
युधिछिर उवाच
A dhārmic leader should not add avoidable burdens to those already suffering; compassion and restraint in command are part of righteous kingship.
In the early forest-exile context, Yudhiṣṭhira reflects on the Pāṇḍavas’ grief after Draupadī’s humiliation and the loss of their kingdom, and refuses to impose further hardship on them.
