Ṛśyaśṛṅga’s Luring, Rainfall at Aṅga, and Reconciliation with Vibhāṇḍaka (ऋश्यशृङ्गोपाख्यानम्)
अन्त:पुरे तं तु निवेश्य राजा विभाण्डकस्यात्मजमेकपुत्रम् । ददर्श देवं सहसा प्रवृष्ट- मापूर्यमाणं च जगज्जलेन,राजा लोमपादने विभाण्डक मुनिके इकलौते पुत्रको महलके भीतर रनिवासमें ठहरा दिया और देखा, सहसा उसी क्षण इन्द्रदेवने वर्षा आरम्भ कर दी तथा सारा जगत् जलसे परिपूर्ण हो गया
antaḥpure taṃ tu niveśya rājā vibhāṇḍakasyātmajam ekaputram | dadarśa devaṃ sahasā pravṛṣṭam āpūryamāṇaṃ ca jagaj jalena ||
罗摩跋陀王将毗婆难陀迦仙人的独子安置在内宫之后,立刻目睹奇迹:天帝因陀罗当即降下甘霖,仿佛整个世界都被水所充满。
विभाण्डक उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic idea that honoring and safeguarding a person of tapas (austerity and self-control) can restore harmony in nature and society; ethical kingship includes protecting such virtue for the welfare of the realm.
King Lomapāda places Vibhāṇḍaka’s only son in the palace’s inner quarters; immediately Indra’s rain begins, and the land/world becomes filled with water—signaling the end of drought and the return of prosperity.
