एष क्रान्ते रथे तिष्ठन् भल्लेनापाहरच्छिर: । जम्भस्य ग्रसमानस्य तदा हार्जुन आहवे,था; पककट, | उस समय ये नरस्वरूप अर्जुन सब ओर चक्कर लगानेवाले रथपर बैठे हुए थे, तो भी इन्होंने सबको अपना ग्रास बनानेवाले जम्भ नामक असुरका मस्तक अपने एक भल्लसे काट गिराया
eṣa krānte rathe tiṣṭhan bhallena apāharac chiraḥ | jambhasya grasamānasya tadā hārjuna āhave ||
毗湿摩波衍那说:其时哈耳朱那(那罗形的阿周那)虽立于疾旋战车之上,仍以利箭一发,斩落那吞噬万物的阿修罗阎婆之首。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even in war, force is ethically framed as protective: the warrior’s dharma is to check predatory, indiscriminate violence (symbolized by Jambha ‘devouring’ others) and restore order by decisive action.
During combat, Hārjuna stands on a fast-moving chariot and, with a cutting bhalla-arrow, severs the head of the asura Jambha, who is portrayed as consuming warriors like prey.
