Udyoga-parva 35
स्वधीतस्य सुयुद्धस्य सुकृतस्य च कर्मण: । तपसश्न् सुतप्तस्य तस्यान्ते सुखमेधते,सम्यक् अध्ययन, न्यायोचित युद्ध, पुण्यकर्म और अच्छी तरह की हुई तपस्याके अन्तमें सुखकी वृद्धि होती है
svādhītasya suyuddhasya sukṛtasya ca karmaṇaḥ | tapasaś ca sutaptasya tasyānte sukham edhate ||
毗度罗教诲:真正的幸福,生长于正当人生的终点——当人勤学有成,只以公正而有纪律之法而战,行诸善业,并以诚心与坚忍修苦行。此颂指出:幸福非一时之乐,乃是达摩成熟之果,由学识、义行与自制所赢得。
विदुर उवाच
Happiness is the final fruit of dharmic living: proper study, righteous warfare (when duty requires it), meritorious action, and well-practiced austerity together mature into lasting well-being.
In Udyoga Parva, Vidura is giving moral and political counsel during the tense pre-war negotiations. Here he emphasizes that true prosperity and happiness come from disciplined learning and ethically governed action, not from impulsive power or unjust gain.
