Ambā’s Vow of Tapas after Paraśurāma’s Assessment (अम्बाया तपोव्रतनिश्चयः)
अपुत्रस्य सतो राज्ञो द्रुपदस्य महीपते: । यथाकाल तु सा देवी महिषी द्रुपदस्य ह
aputrasya sato rājño drupadasya mahīpateḥ | yathākālaṃ tu sā devī mahiṣī drupadasya ha ||
毗湿摩说道:“德鲁帕陀王,地上之主,当时尚无儿子。然而时机成熟之际,德鲁帕陀那位高贵的王后……”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores the dynastic and ethical concern of a king being without an heir, while also suggesting that outcomes unfold in their proper time (yathākālam), reflecting patience and trust in the order of events.
Bhīṣma begins a narrative about King Drupada, noting that he was sonless, and then transitions to the point that, in due course, Drupada’s chief queen would become significant—setting up the account of the birth of Drupada’s children.
