毗湿摩说道:“阇延多、阿弥多阇与萨底耶吉特——那位大车战士——皆为强盛的摩诃罗陀,心怀高远,乃般遮罗诸雄之冠。”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights discernment in leadership: before war, one must recognize the true strength of opponents and allies—not only in numbers but in proven prowess and nobility (mahāratha, mahātmā). Such appraisal frames the ethical gravity of conflict and the responsibility of eminent warriors.
In Udyoga Parva’s preparations for the Kurukṣetra war, Bhīṣma is enumerating notable warriors. Here he names Jayanta, Amitaujā, and Satyajit as foremost Pāñcāla fighters, classifying them as mahārathas and emphasizing their distinguished status.
