Kuntī–Karṇa Saṃvāda: Lineage Disclosure and Appeal to Fraternal Dharma
है अर छा | है >> चतुश्नत्वारिशर्दाधिकशततमो< ध्याय: विदुरकी बात सुनकर युद्धके भावी दुष्परिणामसे व्यथित हुई कुन्तीका बहुत सोच-विचारके बाद कर्णके पास जाना वैशम्पायन उवाच असिद्धानुनये कृष्णे कुरुभ्य: पाण्डवान् गते । अभिगम्य पृथां क्षत्ता शनै: शोचन्निवाब्रवीत्
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | asiddhānunaye kṛṣṇe kurubhyaḥ pāṇḍavān gate | abhigamya pṛthāṃ kṣattā śanaiḥ śocann ivābravīt ||
毗湿摩衍那说:当奎师那的和解劝说未能成功,离开俱卢王庭前往般度族之后,宫廷大臣毗度罗走近普利塔(昆蒂),仿佛为忧愁所压,低声缓缓地对她说道。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
When righteous conciliation fails, the wise respond not with haste but with sober counsel, mindful of the moral responsibility and human suffering that war will bring. The verse highlights ethical seriousness at the moment diplomacy collapses.
Kṛṣṇa’s peace embassy at the Kuru court has not succeeded, and he returns to the Pāṇḍavas. In the aftermath, Vidura—deeply troubled—goes to Kuntī and begins speaking to her gently, setting up a reflective counsel scene before the war.
