Kṛṣṇa’s Conciliatory Address to Karṇa
तं॑ वै विमनसं दृष्टवा सम्प्रेक्ष्यान्योन्यमन्तिकात् | पुनरेवोत्तरं वाक्यमुक्तवन्तौ नरर्षभौ,उसे उदास देख नरश्रेष्ठ भीष्म और द्रोण एक-दूसरेकी ओर देखते हुए उसके निकट ही पुनः इस प्रकार बात करने लगे
taṁ vai vimanasaṁ dṛṣṭvā samprekṣyānyonyam antikāt | punar evottaraṁ vākyam uktavantau nararṣabhau ||
见他神情沮丧、心意不定，两位人中雄杰——毗湿摩与德罗纳——在近旁相互对视；随后又一次开口劝答。此刻昭示：长者察觉对方在关键的道德关口心志摇摆，便以无言相商，而后择言以定其判断，欲在迫近的战祸之前稳住人心。
