Nārada on Mādhavī’s Asceticism and the Scrutiny of Yayāti in Heaven
Viśvāmitrāya dharmātman ṣaḍbhir aśvaśataiḥ saha | tato 'si gata-sammohaḥ kṛta-kṛtyo dvijottama ||
The verse emphasizes dharma as the completion of one’s pledged duty: when a rightful obligation is met—here, by delivering the promised offering to Viśvāmitra—inner turmoil (sammoha) subsides and one becomes kṛta-kṛtya, ‘having done what must be done.’
Nārada advises Gālava, who is striving to fulfill a difficult demand connected with Viśvāmitra, to present the six hundred horses (as obtained) to Viśvāmitra; doing so will end Gālava’s anxiety and complete his undertaking.
