अत्र ध्वजवती नाम कुमारी हरिमेधस: । आकाशे तिष्ठ तिछेति तस्थौ सूर्यस्य शासनात्,इसी दिशामें हरिमेधा मुनिकी कुमारी कन्या ध्वजवती निवास करती है, जो सूर्यदेवकी “ठहरो', “ठहरो' इस आज्ञासे आकाशमें स्थित है
atra dhvajavatī nāma kumārī harimedhasaḥ | ākāśe tiṣṭha tiṣṭheti tasthau sūryasya śāsanāt |
此处住着一位名为幢旗女(Dhvajavatī)的少女,她是圣者哈利梅陀诃(Harimedhas)之女。因日神之命——“停住,停住!”——她便驻立于苍穹,仿佛被神圣的敕令所系。
युपर्ण उवाच
The verse highlights the idea of śāsana (authoritative ordinance): a higher cosmic authority can sustain order and even extraordinary states of being. It gestures toward dharma as alignment with a governing command—here symbolized by Sūrya’s word that fixes Dhvajavatī’s station.
The speaker points out a maiden named Dhvajavatī, daughter of the sage Harimedhas, who remains positioned in the sky because the Sun-god commanded her to ‘stay.’ It functions as a wonder-account within the travel/description context, marking a specific locale/direction with a notable marvel.
