अरण्यवृत्ति-वैराग्योपदेशः | Forest Discipline and the Program of Non-Attachment
साधुगम्यमहं मार्ग न जातु त्वत्कृते पुनः । गच्छेयं तद् गमिष्यामि हित्वा ग्राम्यसुखान्युत,मैं ग्राम्य सुखोंका परित्याग करके साधु पुरुषोंके चले हुए मार्गपर तो चल सकता हूँ; परंतु तुम्हारे आग्रहके कारण कदापि राज्य नहीं स्वीकार करूँगा
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | sādhugamyam ahaṃ mārgaṃ na jātu tvatkṛte punaḥ | gaccheyaṃ tad gamiṣyāmi hitvā grāmyasukhāny uta ||
尤提希提罗说道:“我确能循德者所行之道;舍弃世间安逸,我愿随那道路所指而去。但即便为你,或因你的劝逼,我也决不再受王位。”
युधिछिर उवाच
True dharma may require renouncing comfort and even power; ethical resolve is shown by refusing rulership when it conflicts with one’s conscience, choosing the virtuous path over worldly gain.
In the aftermath of the war, Yudhiṣṭhira expresses a firm intention to abandon ordinary pleasures and follow the path of the righteous, while declaring that he will not accept the kingdom again merely due to another’s insistence.
