Liberation-oriented realization arises when one abandons cravings, becomes inwardly purified, and maintains undivided focus; then one directly perceives Govinda, the Supreme Self, within one’s own self.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, Bhīṣma teaches Yudhiṣṭhira the inner discipline of renunciation and one-pointed contemplation, describing how the seeker comes to direct vision of the indwelling Lord.
