वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even after victory, dharma requires accountability: honoring the departed through proper rites and sustaining the righteous social order through charitable giving. The verse frames śrāddha and dāna as means of ethical repair and inner pacification after violence.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira, together with Draupadī, performs offerings dedicated to Drupada and Draupadī’s sons, distributing gifts to thousands of Brāhmaṇas, each dedication made separately for the intended deceased.
