सूर्यदेव बरसातमें पृथ्वीपर जो पानी बरसाते हैं, उसे अपनी विशुद्ध किरणोंद्वारा आठ महीनेमें पुनः: खींच लेते हैं। इससे बढ़कर आश्वर्यकी बात और क्या होगी? ।।
sūryadevaḥ varṣākāle pṛthivyāṃ yaḥ salilaṃ varṣayati, tat svaviśuddhābhiḥ kiraṇābhiḥ aṣṭamāsaiḥ punaḥ ākarṣati; etad-adhikaṃ kim āścaryam? yasya tejo-viśeṣeṣu svayam ātmā pratiṣṭhitaḥ | yato bījaṃ mahī ceyaṃ dhāryate sa-carācarā | vipravara! yasya sūryasya viśiṣṭe tejasī sākṣāt paramātmā niviṣṭaḥ, yasmāt nānāvidhāni bījāni prabhavanti, yasya ādhāreṇa sa-carācarā pṛthivī dhṛtā, yasya maṇḍale ādi-antarahitaḥ mahābāhuḥ sanātanaḥ puruṣottamaḥ bhagavān nārāyaṇaḥ virājate—tasmād adhikaṃ kim āścaryam?
那伽说道:“雨季之时,太阳令水降落大地;继而又以清净光芒,于八个月内将其吸回。还有什么比这更奇妙?婆罗门中最胜者啊,在太阳独特的光辉之中,真我(至上我)自立其位。万类生命的种子由他而生;凭他的支撑,这整个大地——连同一切动与不动的众生——得以安住。而在那太阳之轮中,纳罗延那(Nārāyaṇa)放光:永恒的至上之人(Puruṣottama),大臂者,无始无终。还有什么奇迹能胜过他?”
नाग उवाच
The verse presents the Sun’s cyclical work—sending rain and reabsorbing water—as a sign of divine governance. It links natural processes to dharmic cosmic order and affirms that the Supreme Self (Paramātmā/Nārāyaṇa) is present in and through the Sun’s radiance, sustaining all life.
A Nāga addresses a learned brāhmaṇa, pointing to the Sun’s role in rainfall and the return of waters as an astonishing phenomenon. He then elevates the point into theology: the Sun is a support of the world and a locus where Nārāyaṇa, the eternal Supreme Person, is said to shine.
