धर्मस्य बहुद्वारत्वम् — Nārada’s Audience with Indra (Śānti-parva 340)
श्रीभगवानुवाच एकतक्ष द्वितश्वैव त्रितश्वैव महर्षय: । इमं देशमनुप्राप्ता मम दर्शनलालसा:,श्रीभगवान् बोले--देवर्षे! महर्षि एकत, द्वित और त्रित--ये सब भी मेरे दर्शनकी इच्छासे इस स्थानपर आये हुए थे
śrībhagavān uvāca ekataś ca dvitaś caiva tritaś caiva maharṣayaḥ | imaṃ deśam anuprāptā mama darśana-lālasāḥ ||
世尊说道:“噢,天界圣仙啊!大圣者厄迦塔、德维塔与特利塔也曾来到此地,只为渴求得见我之圣容。”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the value placed on darśana—direct encounter with the Divine—as a legitimate and powerful spiritual aim, sought even by accomplished sages.
The speaker (introduced as ‘the Blessed Lord’) states that the great sages Ekata, Dvita, and Trita had come to that location out of longing to behold Him, situating the place/event within a tradition of revered seers seeking divine audience.
