धर्मस्य बहुद्वारत्वम् — Nārada’s Audience with Indra (Śānti-parva 340)
ये त्वन्ये ब्रह्मसदने सिद्धसंघा: समागता: । तेभ्यस्तच्छावयामास पुराणं वेदसम्मितम्
ye tv anye brahmasadane siddhasaṅghāḥ samāgatāḥ | tebhyaḥ tac chāvayāmāsa purāṇaṁ vedasammitam ||
毗湿摩说道:“又有其他诸成就者(悉地者)的会众,聚集于梵天的天宫法庭之中——那罗陀便为他们诵说那部古老的《往世书》,其权威被视为与《吠陀》等同。”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores the legitimacy of an ancient sacred tradition by describing it as “veda-sammitam”—on par with, and consistent with, Vedic authority—thereby framing its transmission as dharmically authoritative.
Bhīṣma narrates that in Brahmā’s celestial assembly, hosts of Siddhas gathered, and Nārada recited to them an ancient Purāṇa regarded as Veda-equivalent, emphasizing a formal, exalted setting for the teaching’s dissemination.
