एतन्न: संशयं छिन्धि प्रमाणं नो भवान् मतः । “राजन! किसके द्वारा यज्ञ करना चाहिये? बकरेके द्वारा अथवा अन्नद्वारा? हमारे इस संदेहका आप निवारण करें। हमलोगोंकी रायमें आप ही प्रामाणिक व्यक्ति हैं'
etannaḥ saṁśayaṁ chindhi pramāṇaṁ no bhavān mataḥ |
毗湿摩说道:“请为我们斩断此疑。在我们看来,唯有你是可信的权威。大王,祭祀当以何物为之——以山羊,还是以谷粮?愿你为我们决断,消释疑惑。”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse frames an ethical-ritual dilemma—whether sacrifice should involve animal offering or grain—and emphasizes seeking a trustworthy authority (pramāṇa) to resolve doubt in matters of dharma.
Bhishma voices a question addressed to a king, requesting a decisive clarification about the proper means of performing yajña: with a goat (animal offering) or with grain (non-violent offering).
