Yājñavalkya on the Unity of Sāṃkhya and Yoga and the Marks of Meditative Composure
iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi mokṣadharmaparvaṇi vasiṣṭhakarālajanakasaṃvāde caturadhikatriśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it signals that the chapter concludes within the Mokṣa-dharma portion of Śānti Parva, framing the preceding material as instruction on liberation-oriented dharma delivered through the Vasiṣṭha–Karāla–Janaka dialogue.
The text is closing a chapter: it formally identifies the work (Mahābhārata), the book (Śānti Parva), the subsection (Mokṣa-dharma), and the conversational setting (dialogue of Vasiṣṭha, Karāla, and Janaka), and then states that this is the 304th chapter.
