Śānti-parva Adhyāya 30: Nārada–Parvata Samaya-bhaṅga, Śāpa, and the Marriage of Sukumārī
कृत्वा समयमव्यग्रो भवान् वै सहितो मया
kṛtvā samayam avyagro bhavān vai sahito mayā
既已立下约定,你——心不惊扰而又专注——确实与我同在,忠于所立之誓与所许之约。
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
The verse highlights dharma as fidelity to one’s samaya (pledged agreement) and the virtue of acting with avyagra-bhāva—composure and freedom from distraction—once a commitment is undertaken.
Śrīkṛṣṇa addresses someone respectfully, recalling that an agreement was made and that the addressee stayed aligned with him, calm and undistracted—emphasizing the moral seriousness of shared resolve and kept promises.
