Śoka-śamana: Kṛṣṇa’s Consolation and Nārada’s Exempla to Sṛñjaya

The verse presents Rāma’s reign as a model of dharmic governance: when the ruler upholds righteousness, society becomes secure and harmonious, and people naturally cultivate truthfulness, contentment, and moral discipline.
In Śānti Parva’s discourse on dharma and statecraft, Vāyu-deva cites the idealized condition of society under Rāma’s rule—marked by absence of quarrel, fearlessness, and truth-observance—to illustrate the fruits of righteous kingship.
