The verse praises extraordinary dāna: even the most luxurious possessions (a gold-built palace and abundant enjoyments) become ethically meaningful when offered to worthy recipients without clinging, emphasizing generosity as a pillar of dharma.
Vāyu-deva describes a donor who commissions a magnificent, gold-adorned palace and gives it to qualified brāhmaṇas along with plentiful goods; the brāhmaṇas then distribute the donated wealth among themselves according to the donor’s instruction.
