Aśmagīta: Janaka’s Inquiry on Loss, Kāla, and the Limits of Control (अश्मगीता)
दृश्यते नाप्यतिक्रामन्न निष्क्रान्तो5थवा पुनः
dṛśyate nāpyatikrāmanna niṣkrānto 'thavā punaḥ
遮那迦说:“可见其人既不逾越分寸,也不退缩;并且,他亦不离其位。”
जनक उवाच
The verse points to disciplined balance: the exemplary person neither transgresses rightful limits nor abandons duty through withdrawal; steadiness within dharma is praised.
King Janaka is speaking in an instructive context, describing an observed model of conduct—someone who remains within proper bounds and does not desert their role—supporting a broader discussion on righteous living and inner restraint.
