श्रेयो-धर्मकर्मविचारः
Inquiry into Śreyas, Dharma, and Karma
दानवश्रेष्ठ जिनका मस्तक और स्थान भी अनन्त है, उन भगवान् विष्णुका उत्तम माहात्म्य मैं तुम्हें बताऊँगा ।।
bhīṣma uvāca | dānavśreṣṭha yasyā mastakaṁ ca sthānaṁ cānantam, tasya bhagavato viṣṇor uttamaṁ māhātmyaṁ te 'haṁ vakṣyāmi || tayoḥ saṁvadator evam ājagāma mahāmuniḥ | sanatkumāro dharmātmā saṁśaya-cchedanāya vai ||
毗湿摩说道:“大那婆中的贤者啊,我将告诉你毗湿奴世尊至上的伟大——祂的首与住处皆无穷无尽。” 正当舒克罗阿阇梨与弗利特罗阿修罗如此交谈之时,具足正法的大圣仙萨那特库玛罗为断除他们的疑惑而来到那里。
भीष्म उवाच
The verse frames Vishnu as infinite in nature and emphasizes that spiritual and ethical doubts should be resolved through the guidance of a dharmic sage—knowledge that dispels uncertainty is itself a support of dharma.
Bhishma announces he will describe Vishnu’s supreme glory. In the embedded story, as Shukracharya and Vritrasura are in discussion, the sage Sanatkumara arrives specifically to resolve their doubts.
