नारद-समङ्ग-संवादः — The Nārada–Samaṅga Dialogue on Fearlessness and Equanimity
विद्वान् सर्वेषु भूतेषु आत्मना सोपमो भवेत् | कृतकृत्यो विशुद्धात्मा सर्व त्यजति चैव ह
vidvān sarveṣu bhūteṣu ātmanā sopamo bhavet | kṛtakṛtyo viśuddhātmā sarvaṃ tyajati caiva ha ||
毗湿摩说道:智者当以自身为准,视一切众生与己同等,以同一内在尺度衡量。由此培育不偏不倚的同情与体恤,便能尽其本分、净化其心,从而抛却一切过失与垢染。
भीष्म उवाच
The verse teaches ātma-upamya—treating all beings as oneself. This empathetic equality purifies the mind, completes one’s ethical striving, and leads to the abandonment of faults and harmful tendencies.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma after the war, Bhīṣma continues advising Yudhiṣṭhira on righteous conduct. Here he emphasizes a universal ethical stance: impartial regard for all beings as the basis for inner purity and freedom from दोष (faults).
