परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269
तेज: क्षमा शान्तिरनामयं शुभं तथाविध॑ व्योम सनातन ध्रुवम् एतै: सर्वर्गम्यते बुद्धिनेत्रै- स्तस्मै नमो ब्रह्मणे ब्राह्मणाय
tejaḥ kṣamā śāntir anāmayaṃ śubhaṃ tathāvidhaṃ vyoma sanātanaṃ dhruvam | etaiḥ sarvair gamyate buddhi-netrais tasmai namo brahmaṇe brāhmaṇāya ||
迦毗罗教示:至上实在——如虚空般无所系著,不坏不灭,亘古常存而不动摇——为智慧净化内眼之人所证得。诸见者以吉祥之修持而达之:灵耀(tejas)、忍辱(kṣamā)与寂静(śānti)。因此,他向彼梵致敬——那为真正知梵者所识的最高原理。
कपिल उवाच
Brahman, described as space-like (unattached), eternal and unchanging, is realized not by external rites alone but by the purified ‘eye’ of wisdom; the practical supports named here are tejas (disciplined inner radiance), kṣamā (forbearance), and śānti (peace), which make the mind fit for direct realization.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on liberation and right conduct, Kapila speaks as a teacher of brahma-vidyā, describing the qualities by which seekers come to know the supreme Reality and concluding with a reverential salutation to Brahman.
