iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi mokṣadharmaparvaṇi śukānuprasne trayastriṃśad-adhika-dviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
This line functions as a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it frames the teaching context by marking that the discussion belongs to the Mokṣa-dharma portion and is prompted by Śuka’s further inquiry—highlighting the tradition of learning through sustained questioning aimed at liberation.
Vyāsa (as narrator/speaker) signals the formal close of Adhyāya 233 in the Śānti Parvan’s Mokṣa-dharma section, identifying the chapter’s topic as Śuka’s follow-up questions and concluding that unit of discourse.
