ब्राह्मण उवाच कृतः प्रयत्न: सुमहान्‌ सर्वेषां संनिधाविह । सह तुल्यफलावावं गच्छावो यत्र नौ गति:

brāhmaṇa uvāca | kṛtaḥ prayatnaḥ sumahān sarveṣāṁ saṁnidhāv iha | saha tulyaphalāv āvāṁ gacchāvo yatra nau gatiḥ ||

婆罗门说道:“大王啊,我在此众人面前,已竭尽极大努力,要将我苦行与诵念(japa)之果奉献于你;然而你坚持要我们共同享受其报。故此,让我们二人同分一德,同享一果。来吧——就让我们并肩而行,直至命运所许之处。”
