रश्मीस्तेषां स मनसा यदा सम्यड्नियच्छति । तदा प्रकाशते<स्यात्मा घटे दीपो ज्वलन्निव
raśmīs teṣāṃ sa manasā yadā samyaṅ niyacchati | tadā prakāśate 'syātmā ghaṭe dīpo jvalann iva ||
毗湿摩说:当人以其心善加摄持诸根之“光线”(趋境之势),则其内在之我便显明发光——如灯在罐中安然燃烧。此教强调内在的调御:伦理的主宰始于以正导之心统御诸根;由此制御而生清澈的自照,而非向外的炫示。
भीष्म उवाच
Proper restraint of the senses through the mind leads to the manifestation of the inner Self; inner clarity arises from disciplined control, not from external action alone.
In Bhishma’s instruction on dharma and inner discipline, he uses a simile: when the mind firmly governs the senses, the Self becomes evident within—like a lamp burning inside a pot—signifying steady, inward illumination.
