The Dialogue of Śalmali and Pavana
पिपासार्तोडपि तद् दृष्टवा तृप्त: स्यान्नात्र संशय: । उपवासकृशोत्यर्थ स तु पार्थिव लुब्धक:
pipāsārto 'pi tad dṛṣṭvā tṛptaḥ syān nātra saṃśayaḥ | upavāsa-kṛśo 'tyarthaṃ sa tu pārthiva lubdhakaḥ ||
毗湿摩说道：“即便有人被渴苦所逼，只要望见那湖，亦足以心生满足——此无可疑。”然而那猎人虽因绝食而极度消瘦，却仍欢然踏入猛兽出没之林，竟不曾向湖泊投去一眼。既立大志欲达宏愿，他便闯入林中；才一进入，便陷于荆棘丛里，周身为刺所穿，血染其体。
