Educational Q&A

Moral and spiritual renewal is possible through disciplined austerity (tapas) and clarifying knowledge (vidyā): when one strengthens oneself inwardly, inauspicious tendencies and harmful actions are dispelled, like darkness vanishing before great light.

The speaker vows to regain inner strength and eliminate inauspiciousness by undertaking tapas and cultivating vidyā, using the image of the sun-like luminaries that naturally destroy darkness to express confidence in purification and reform.
