Śaraṇāgata-Atithi-Dharma in the Kapota Narrative
etāṃ buddhiṃ samāsthāya viśvāmitro mahāmuniḥ | tasmin deśe sa suṣvāpa śvapaco yatra bhārata ||
True dharma and spiritual strength are shown by unwavering resolve (buddhi) and the willingness to endure discomfort and social contempt without losing self-control; external status is secondary to inner discipline.
Bhishma narrates that Vishvamitra, after making a firm decision, deliberately sleeps in the very locality associated with an outcaste (śvapaca), indicating a chosen trial meant to test or strengthen his austerity and steadiness.
