भीष्म उवाच अत्र ते वर्तयिष्यामि नीतिमापत्सु भारत । उत्सृज्यापि घृणां काले यथा वर्तेत भूमिप:

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | atra te vartayiṣyāmi nītim āpatsu bhārata | utsṛjyāpi ghṛṇāṃ kāle yathā varteta bhūmipaḥ ||

Translation

毗湿摩说道：“在此我将为你说明，噢，婆罗多啊，灾厄之时当行之政——国王在时势所迫之际，应以合时的决断行事，即便不得不暂置慈悲。”
