Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti
evaṁ vaseha sa-snehā yathākāmaṁ ahiṁsitā | yat kṛtaṁ tat tu me kṣāntaṁ tvaṁ ca vai kṣama pūjani pūjanī ||
The verse teaches kṣamā (forgiveness) grounded in ahiṁsā (non-violence): one should renounce retaliation, offer pardon for wrongs received, and also seek mutual forgiveness to restore ethical harmony.
Brahmadatta addresses a respected person (pūjanī), assuring them safety and freedom to stay as they wish. He explicitly forgives their past action and requests reciprocal forgiveness for anything he may have done, signaling reconciliation.
