Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca
'भैया! इस नेवलेसे मुझे बड़ा डर लग रहा है। इसलिये मैं तुम्हारे पीछे इस जालमें प्रवेश कर जाऊँगा, परंतु दादा! तुम मुझे मार न डालना, बचा लेना; क्योंकि जीवित रहनेपर ही मैं तुम्हारी रक्षा करनेमें समर्थ हूँ ।।
bhīṣma uvāca | ulūkāc caiva māṃ rakṣa kṣudraḥ prārthayate hi mām | ahaṃ chetsyāmi te pāśān sakhe satyena te śape ||
毗湿摩说道：“兄弟啊！我对这只獴极为恐惧。因此我将跟在你后面进入这张网；但长者啊，请不要杀我——救我一命，因为唯有我活着，方能护你。也请护我免于那猫头鹰；那卑劣之物确在觊觎我的性命。朋友，我以真理起誓：我必斩断你的束缚。”
