निमज्जत्यापदं प्राप्प महतीं दारुणामपि,“बुद्धिमान, विद्वान् और नीतिशास्त्रमें निपुण पुरुष भारी और भयंकर विपत्तिमें पड़नेपर भी उसमें डूब नहीं जाता है--उससे छूटनेकी चेष्टा करता है
nimajjaty āpadaṃ prāpya mahatīṃ dāruṇām api | buddhimān vidvān nītiśāstre nipuṇaḥ puruṣo bhārīṃ bhayaṅkarāṃ vipattiṃ prāpya api na nimajjati—tasyāḥ mokṣāya yatate ||
毗湿摩说道：即便巨大的、可怖的灾难降临，智者——博学且精于正行之学——也不会沉溺于那场祸患之中；相反，他会努力自救而出。此教诲在于：智慧与伦理的辨识使人在危局中站稳脚跟，把苦难化作有意志、有纪律的用功之地，而非绝望的深渊。
