उच्चैव॒त्ति: श्रियो हानिर्यथैव मरणं तथा । तस्मात्‌ कोशं बलं मित्रमथ राजा विवर्धयेत्‌

Transliteration

uccair vṛttiḥ śriyo hānir yathaiva maraṇaṃ tathā | tasmāt kośaṃ balaṃ mitram atha rājā vivardhayet ||

Translation

毗湿摩说：凭财富与福泽而登高位者，一旦失其财，痛苦几与死亡无异。因此，君王当不断充实国库，壮大军力，并扩展盟友之众。
