अहं सेनाप्रणेता ते भविष्यामि न संशय: । तं च व्यूहं विधास्यामि न तरिष्यन्ति यं परे
sañjaya uvāca |
ahaṃ senāpraṇetā te bhaviṣyāmi na saṃśayaḥ |
taṃ ca vyūhaṃ vidhāsyāmi na tariṣyanti yaṃ pare |
iti satyaṃ bravīmy eṣa duryodhana na saṃśayaḥ ||
三阇耶说道:“我必为你的统帅——毫无疑虑。我也必布置一种战阵(vyūha),使敌军无法突破。杜尔约陀那,我所言皆真;其中没有丝毫不定。”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the psychology of war leadership: certainty, command, and strategic planning. Ethically, it also serves as a cautionary note in the Mahābhārata’s larger frame—confidence and tactical skill do not automatically align with dharma, and overconfidence can blind one to moral and karmic consequences.
Sañjaya reports a declaration of assured command: the speaker promises Duryodhana that he will lead the Kaurava forces and devise an impenetrable battle-array that the opposing side cannot break.
