दौ:शासनिं च विक्रान्तं लक्ष्मणं चात्मजावुभौ । एतांश्वान्यांश्व सुबहून् मदीयांश्व सहस्रश:
dauḥśāsaniṃ ca vikrāntaṃ lakṣmaṇaṃ cātmajāv ubhau | etāṃś cānyāṃś ca bahūn madīyāṃś ca sahasraśaḥ ||
三阇耶说道:“(我见到)杜沙萨那那勇猛的儿子,以及罗什摩那,并那两位儿子;此外还有许多许多——我方阵营中成千上万的战士。”
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores the vast scale of war and the tragic expendability of even renowned and valiant warriors; ethical reflection arises from seeing how pride in numbers and might still leads to mass destruction and the erosion of dharma.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra the presence and valor of specific Kaurava fighters—naming the son of Duḥśāsana, Lakṣmaṇa, and two sons—along with many other Kaurava warriors in the thousands, as part of the ongoing battle account in Śalya Parva.
