एवं व्युत्क्रान्तधर्मेण व्युत्क्रम्य समयं हत: । “जैसे कोई सोये अथवा पागल हुए मनुष्यको मार दे या धोखेसे जहर देकर किसीकी हत्या कर डाले, उसी प्रकार धर्मका उल्लंघन करनेवाले पापी भीमसेनने गदायुद्धकी मर्यादाका उल्लंघन करके मुझे मारा है

evaṁ vyutkrāntadharmeṇa vyutkramya samayaṁ hataḥ |

三阇耶说道:“因此,我被那背离达摩之人所击倒——他逾越并破坏了既定的决斗约法。”此句所强调的并非单纯战场胜负,而是伦理上的越轨:说话者宣称这一击违背了棍棒决斗所约定的“samaya”(约法/规约),故属非达摩(adharma),而非正当的胜利。
