Kurukṣetra–Samantapañcaka Māhātmya: King Kuru’s Ploughing and Indra’s Boon (प्रजापतेरुत्तरवेदिः समन्तपञ्चकं)

The verse highlights the impermanence of the body and the ideal of a composed end: after one’s worldly role is fulfilled, relinquishing attachment to the body is portrayed as leading to a higher state (heaven/Tridiva).
Vaiśampāyana, narrating to the king, states that the person in question abandoned his body in this world and went to the heavenly realm (Tridiva), marking the conclusion of that figure’s earthly life.
