Shloka 49

कार्त्तिकेयाभिषेकः — Consecration of Kārttikeya and the Enumeration of His Retinue

महामति ब्रह्माने जगत्‌के भिन्न-भिन्न पदार्थोंके ऊपर देवता, गन्धर्व, राक्षस, यक्ष, भूत, नाग और पक्षियोंका आधिपत्य पहलेसे ही निर्धारित कर रखा था। साथ ही वे कुमारको भी आधिपत्य करनेमें समर्थ मानते थे ।। ततो मुहूर्त स ध्यात्वा देवानां श्रेयसि स्थित: । सैनापत्यं ददौ तस्मै सर्वभूतेषु भारत,भरतनन्दन! तदनन्तर देवगणोंके मंगल-सम्पादनमें तत्पर हुए ब्रह्माने दो घड़ीतक चिन्तन करनेके पश्चात्‌ सब प्राणियोंमें श्रेष्ठ कार्तिकेयको सम्पूर्ण देवताओंका सेनापति पद प्रदान किया

tato muhūrtaṃ sa dhyātvā devānāṃ śreyasi sthitaḥ | saināpatyaṃ dadau tasmai sarvabhūteṣu bhārata ||

大智的梵天早已为世间种种差别之境,预定其主宰:诸天、乾闼婆、罗刹、夜叉、部多、那伽与飞禽,各有所统;并且他也认定这位童子(俱摩罗)足以执掌权柄。于是梵天为诸天之福祉而立,沉思片刻;继而,噢婆罗多,他将天军统帅之位授予此人,承认其为一切众生之最胜。
